History
Steep Hill founded its first commercial cannabis testing laboratory in 2008.[3] In April 2018, the company announced intentions of expanding into Mexico and six European Union markets.[4] In September 2019, news broke that Oklahoma's Elite Element Testing Laboratory, LLC would be licensed under the name Steep Hill Oklahoma[5]; this became one of 10 labs licensed in Oklahoma as of February 2020.[6]
On June 11, 2020, Maryland's Medical Cannabis Commission found that Green Analytics MD, LLC, then a franchisee of Steep Hill, was not operating independently based on the requirements of the program. The resolution was that Green Analytics would have to terminate its licensing agreement with Steep Hill and not renew it, as well as cease doing business as "Steep Hill Maryland."[7]
