LettuceTest, LLC (formerly Cannex Nevada, LLC) performs analytical laboratory testing for the agriculture, cosmetic, mining, and pharmaceutical industries, including chemical Cannabis testing.
History
The company was formally founded in Nevada in July 2014.[1]
At the end of December 2019, Cannex was forced to temporarily close by the state "after finding elevated levels of mold, yeast, bacteria and fungus in certain products tested at the lab."[2] As of February 2020, the laboratory was reopened but not yet permitted to conduct microbial testing. "To resume microbial testing, Cannex needed to comply with a plan of correction that required Cannex to revise and update its standard operating procedures, method of verifying microbial testing and ensure laboratory cleanliness, along with making other changes."[3]
In September 2020, the company legally changed its name to LettuceTest, LLC.[1]
On January 26, 2021, the Cannabis Compliance Board of Nevada filed a complaint against the company "for allegedly skirting several Nevada laws at its medical and adult-use cannabis testing facility," with a request to the court that the business' state-issued licenses be revoked, a fine assessed, and judgement made that the company can not obtain a license for 10 years.[4][5] It's not clear what the final result was, and the company is still showing that it has an active Cannabis testing license as of July 2022.[6] A website could not be found for the company.
